Bio:
Winter Youth is a Vancouver based dark indie rock band. Singer-songwriters Emily Seal and Kas Baker create hauntingly beautiful songs encapsulating the twists and turns of everyday life. Emily’s mesmerizing voice is a vehicle straight from the basement of her heart. Accompanied by a landscape of reverb drenched guitar, you can fall into the depths these songs the second they start. Reminding you of your first heartbreak, the longing to detach from a stressful reality and the inner battles we all face day to day. Winter Youth writes to remind us we are all human.
They have performed at various venues and events such as Canada Music Week, Skookum Festival, Vancouver Island Music Festival, Raindance Film Festival (London, UK), and at the Root Dwellers Concert Series. They are currently working on their highly anticipated debut full-length album, produced by Paul Boechler, set to release November 2nd, 2019. The record will showcase their tapestry of talent and display their unique skill. Their music is a generous buffet of feels. This album takes listeners on a scenic walk through a collage of emotions. The best part is that Winter Youth is just getting started and they are certainly one to watch.
Winter Youth is also a subject in the “Krow’s Transformation”, a documentary following the transition of transmale model Kian Krow. Kas shares the experiences and story of his own transition in the much anticipated film.
